One week down!

Dear Ones,

Its been quite a week here. Tuesday was a great day. I got a job coaching children's soccer every Saturday for about 5 hours. Its not a lot but its probably all I can handle at the moment. I start the first Saturday in September. (I might have to call my old soccer coaches for games to play with 7-year-olds at practice) Tuesday afternoon, walking home I found about 20 cents in pennies and nickels on the side walk. I must have looked like a fool crouched down on the side of the road picking up the change and making sure I didn't miss any. Then Wednesday I found a penny in my classroom, and then I found another while working with some friends. So I guess my lesson this week is be careful what you ask for but be grateful for what you get.

The teaching staff here is awesome. If you'd like to get to know them here is a video: on.fb.me/YKhLab  The Professor speaking in the video is Dr. Gammon Earhart. She is my neuroanatomy professor. She may seem quite and a little reserved at first but our classes with her have already included singing and dancing (She made up a dance called "The Dermatoma." Imagine her, to the tune of the macarena list of the spinal nerves while touching the part of the skin they innervate). My classmates and I are getting uh real close...Our clinical skills class has us using each other to find different bony landmarks. These have to be found and touched on the skin for the grade to count. Awkward right? Not anymore, they broke that barrier for all of us when we had to find the ischial tuberosity on each other (your butt bone). With around 4 hours of that class each day we are quite comfortable with each other now.

I got my church assignment officially today as a counselor in the women's organization (the relief society) in my church. Our president reminds me of an old friend who was my relief society president a long time ago and so I guess I'm not surprised at the call because back then I ended up in the presidency too. Maybe she will be as much as a blessing to me as my former relief society president turned out to be.

Lastly, thanks to one of my aunts who was even kind enough to offer to send me care packages of different flavors of ramen to spice things up and that made my day. Love yall!

Ps See if you can find me. You can't see my face only my shoulder...haha
