Craziness

Dear ones,

Yours truly on the far left - They were singing loathing from Wicked
I realize its been a while so lets see...where to start. I guess I should pick up with the lip sync contest...That's really where the craziness started. I chose to perform to Its Raining Men. It wasn't a hit but I didn't crash and burn either. I also got roped in to another performance as a back up singer (see picture). Right after the activity the Branch President (the leader of our little congregation) pulled me aside and asked me to be the Relief Society president (over all the women in our congregation). Entering craziness.

Since then life has been a blur of meetings, organizing, being trained, feeling overwhelmed, denial, self-doubt, thinking of ways to get out of this (just kidding) and Oh yeah I'm still in school....so homework, class, studying and homework if I have time, and the occasional bouts of sleep.

We've started in the clinic working with some of the funnier moments including:
Me and classmate Chris at our first day of clinical

-Patient turns right when I asked her to go left, I reminder her, the room is on the left she replied: Sorry, I'm a woman; I need to be told twice.

-Another lady read my name tag and said huh, Irish and Texan. I bet you're a blast to be with in a bar. (if only she knew I've never even been to one)

I've really enjoyed working in acute care. I spent time in the cardiopulmonary unit and the neuro ICU working with stroke patients and other brain trauma cases. Hands on experience beats being the classroom hands down!

I did escape last weekend to see my aunt and cousins. It was a much needed break. I didn't touch a single text book or bit of homework and replaced that with listening to General Conference.
Life is sweet.

-Me
