A lesson from blue tongues...

You can't tell from the picture but our tongues are blue...

Last week I got out of town for the weekend to visit my aunt and cousins and their families so we could all watch General Conference together. General Conference is a semi-annual broadcast from the Prophet and twelve apostles. It is awesome! And being broadcast we were able to watch it from the comfort of my cousin's home.

To teach her children the importance of listening to the prophet and apostles, my cousin put candy in bowls with a word like scriptures or baptism next to each bowl. If the speaker said one of those words and the kids heard it they could jump up,
run over to the bowl and eat a piece of candy. By the end one session their little lips and tongues were purple and blue from all the colored candies - Evidence that they had listened to the Prophet.

I thought if only I was as eager to jump up at the words of the Prophet and take action, what evidence would there be in my own life? Would the resulting blessing of that action be as obvious as those blue tongues? Would I see the evidence in my countenance? I think it would.
