HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Well I guess this is late since Halloween is one of those holidays you celebrate one day only. This week started out early Monday morning, climbing out of the car and tripping on the curb, really eating it. I fell and I'm pretty sure I grunted as I hit the ground. All my things came flying out of my hands and my bag (luckily my phone was not one of them, that would be an a terrible repeat of a couple weeks ago). I got up with only a little scrape and a bruised ego but it was early enough in the day that no one else saw...I think.
This week felt long. We didn't have clinic on Tuesday so we could discuss our experiences so far. Most people are in out patient orthopedic settings so they are seeing a different population then I catch in the hospital. So it was fun to hear their crazy stories.

All we do is win!! |
After having a near heart attack watching FSU beat out yet another team I decided to celebrate by wearing the costume you see pictured and go as a winner/champion. Haters in our group tried to give me grief. I just looked at their hats and said can you say the same thing when you where that? Nole Pride! (Dad once told me that I need to stop beating the boys at their own game...still working on that)
Here is St Louis the kids have tradition when trick or treating: they must come with a joke prepared. I sat on the porch with my roommate and friends and kids climbed up the stairs to our house the first thing Barb would ask is if they had a joke. She had a system: Young kids without a joke = 1 piece, Young kids with a joke = 2 pieces, Older kids with a joke = 2 pieces and Older kids without a joke had to eat a sour piece of candy right there in front of us on the porch before getting a candy or they didn't get any. I think this is called hazing when done as an organization....It was hilarious and the kids did it! One of the best jokes of the night was: What do you call a dog with no legs? It doesn't matter what you call him, he ain't comin'!
Its really fall here, I went to work yesterday with a windchill of 24 degrees. If I was a parent I would tell me kid we were not going to go to soccer today. Before the kids even got there I had lost feeling in my toes and my fingers....its gonna be a long winter.
In class we've moved to range of motion up the upper extremities and the trunk. We have an exam on that next Friday. Its really interesting to find areas about you that are either weak or abnormal when you thought you moved and your body worked just fine. We only have 2 more practicals after that for the semester! Time is flying!
All in all, Life is sweet here in St Louis. Thanks for all yalls prayers and support! May Heavenly Father continue to watch over you and yours!
