What He requires of me...

This week some friends have faced some challenges that do more then just rock the boat. I have struggled knowing how to help, feeling that I didn't have anything I could really offer. While in the temple on Wednesday I found myself talking with my Heavenly Father, praying and telling Him I wish I had a million dollars so I could surprise and help those who are struggling. Then a clear and direct thought came into my mind: Erin, I don't need your money.

In that tender moment understanding came to me that if Heavenly Father wanted money He could get money; that's not what He needs from me. He needs me to learn something. He needs us to become something more. He needs my time, my talents, my hands, a willing heart and a willing mind. He accepts all I have to offer and like the Savior blessing the loaves and fishes He can multiply it by the thousands. My small offering is enough. That's what He requires of me.
