Well apparently last weeks letter wasn't as boring as I thought it was with the number of responses I got, so I guess I won't preface this one and let yall decide for yourselves whether or not this is worth while.
I'm starting the hit that point in the semester where if I sit still for more than 30 seconds I'm asleep. Maybe its a little early for this to happen. I don't have the studying stamina I did in undergrad because it doesn't take long for me to find something else I could be doing besides reading and at BYU I studied all day everyday. This picture is your's truly caught red handed sleeping in the 10 min between classes but as you can see I'm not the only one who's exhausted.
Monday night our church activity was supposed to be night games which I was really looking forward to except they do night games a little different here...or maybe just this group I was with...But when sardines started and we were supposed to go find the "it" most people just stayed in one big group. I think at one point most people forgot we were playing. The poor "it" was hiding for a long time with a just few of us to keep him company up in a tree. He had to call (literally with a phone) the group and tell them where we were....haha. I don't think night games ever really go as planned.
In preparation for our early clinical experiences we had two days this week where patients came into the classroom and let us practice transfers and gait-training. Its a good thing we practiced on each other first at the beginning of the week because we may have dropped a couple people. I start in the acute cardiopulmonary unit this Tuesday. Wish me luck!
We had an assignment this week to go out two by two and take a wheelchair out into the community. The purpose of this assignment was to understand what barriers our patients will need to learn to over come and to see people's reaction to someone in a wheelchair. The best reaction I got was a police officer who went way over top and bent down and right in my face and very loudly asked how I was doing and he hoped I had a good rest of my day. When my partner was in the chair we had people talk to me to ask her a question or tell her something. It was fun and a little eye opening.
That about does it for me. Next week are more tests, clinical experiences,...Oh and I've been challenged to a lip sync battle tomorrow for FHE so look forward to that report.
Love yall!
