Its cold here, I don't care what the natives say. But they'll all tell you that if you don't like the weather in St. Louis wait five minutes because it will change. I haven't been able to spend much time in the weather however, so many other things have to get done.
Monday morning I was out for a run and dropped my phone which not just cracked but shattered. I think that was the straw that broke the camel's back because all the stress building up over the week came pouring out of me over such a silly thing. My mother got an earful and told me she would put my name in the temple (not for the phone but for help with all the responsibilities that occupy my plate). This means that anyone who goes to the temple will be praying for me.
On a lighter note, there must also be some heavenly hand helping FSU because last night's game was certainly cutting it close. But the boys pulled out another W and did work! Clinic was fun this week back on the cardiopulmonary unit. We worked with a lot of patients in isolation units because of infections. We mostly just get our patients up and walking after surgery. I am learning all the tubes and machines in the hospital, which I can unplug and which I can't. I enjoy interacting with patients a lot and seeing their progress in such a short window it very rewarding. For those interested: our essential clinical skills class is starting work on upper extremity goniometry and manual muscle testing this week since we finished up all lower quarter measurements and test. Its by far my favorite class and the one I am doing the best in.
Well that about does it. Days are long, sleep is short but life is sweet. Bring on another week!
