The Best Day of My Life!

A friend of mine once told me of a family who took a trip to Yellowstone. The son waited with great anticipation along with his family to see the eruption of Old Faithful. When the moment came the child could hardly contain his excitement; in fact he couldn't contain it. He jumped up on to a bench, raising both of his arms and screamed, "THIS IS THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!"

In my life there have been days with maybe a little more restraint and yes sometimes with just as much enthusiasm I have cried aloud and in my heart the same declaration: "THIS IS THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!"

About a year ago I had this thought and it held true for me today. I looked out my window this morning, a beautiful morning and I thought of this morning 2000 years ago where an angel with what I imagine to be the same excitement as that young boy comforted Mary who had come to the tomb. Knowing she had come seeking the Savior he asked "Why see ye the living among the dead? He is not here but is risen!" Which I read as "THIS IS BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!!!"

He is Risen!

He is risen so that everyday can be the best day of my life. He has walked my path before me. There is no lonely hour, no bitter pain, no aching frustration, no trembling fear, no crippling weakness that He has not nor can not heal. I never saw Him or heard his voice or touched His hand but He is no less real to me. I know He lives. He is Risen! This knowledge makes today the Best day of my life!
